Massage Services
My massages are tailored to meet your needs in the moment. My predominant style is Lomi Lomi, a Hawaiian form of bodywork which is deep, yet gentle. I am also experienced in deep tissue, injury treatment, medical massage, Swedish, and relaxation massage. Most massages I give combine several of these styles. I am also trained in prenatal massage, positional release, abdominal massage, breast massage, facial massage, and intra-oral massage.

Lomi Lomi:
In Lomi Lomi, we contact the bones, where muscles attach, to facilitate release on both a physical and metaphysical level. Your bones hold memories, which can be accessed through bodywork. Lomi Lomi is deeply relaxing, and produces lasting results. The style is done in long flowing strokes, in sequences of 3, which is easily accepted by your nervous system. Lomi Lomi is loving touch, given with intent of the highest good and best outcome. Hot Stones:
Heated stones from local beaches are used as an extension of my hand, to massage with long, flowing strokes. Deep penetrating heat melts your tension away, and revitalizes muscles with increased blood flow. Warm stones are strategically placed to ground you with their heat and weight. Offered as a 90-minute session only. |
Deep Tissue:
In deep tissue massage, deeper layers of muscle are accessed. Your body has several layers of muscle, and often, more than one layer is involved if you are experiencing discomfort. Deep tissue can have a hurt-so-good quality to it. Communication is important, so I know where your pain threshold is—it should not be painful to the point of creating more tension in your body! There is a fine line where we can work to release and reset the tension gauge of muscles. Injury Treatment & Medical Massage:
These modalities refer to working on a specific, acute injury, but can also be used to address chronic conditions. While relaxation can be, and is often part of, a medical massage, it is not the focus. Chart notes are kept to track your progress. Heat or ice may be used during the session, as appropriate. I may offer at-home care suggestions for you, within my scope of practice. |
Swedish/ Relaxation Massage:
Swedish is the most widely taught modality, so it is very likely if you have received massage, you have received a Swedish massage. It incorporates a variety of techniques to improve circulation, reduce tension, increase range-of-motion, and ease the nervous system. Swedish is easily combined with other techniques, and can be given using light to deep pressure depending on the desired result. If you request a "relaxation" massage I will use a combination of Swedish and Lomi Lomi techniques.

Chair Massage:
A specially designed chair allows you to fully relax while seated. Best for neck, shoulder, back, and hip work. Done fully clothed, chair massage is offered in my office, or off-site. Available for groups, events, workplace appreciation, etc. Intraoral Massage: Accessing the muscles on the inside of the mouth can help with a variety of ailments including: TMJ discomfort, headaches, jaw pain, tension relief after dental work, sinus problems, and more. I wear gloves (nitrile) and work slowly in communication with you to find the areas that may need release. Special training is required, and I am endorsed by the Dept. of Health to perform this work. Breast Massage: This type of work also requires special training as regulated by the Dept of Health. There are many reasons for massaging this region of the body including: access to the attachment sites of the pec major, pec minor and intercostal muscles; pre and post surgery support; to increase circulation and release fascial restrictions; ease breast pain associated with PMS; assist with lactation problems, and support the lymphatic system. |
